Wilson Tai of RACINGMIX Digital Lifestyle & Global Culture

Racingmix was created by Wilson Tai and is his vision of digital lifestyle & global culture. Racingmix began as an expressive outlet for his passion, Import Racing - it all started with back-to-back visits to Japan and Southern California - epicenters of the Import Racing sub-culture that captivated him in his teenage years. Teaming up with his kid brother, Shaun, Wilson established a San Francisco Bay Area car club called, Z.Team Yossi (ZTY), influencing an entire generation linked via the internet and print. " Wilson 's Import Racing Mix" as it was known then, was the catalyst for the "Fast & Furious" generation with never-before-seen or published photos sharing the underground culture to the world. Wilson 's work took root as he was hired as editor for the nationally published magazine, Street Racer. The lifestyle Wilson and his colleagues lived in California and shared online inspired the Hollywood blockbuster film, The Fast and the Furious; what started as a predominantly Asian Californian sub-culture exceeded all expectations by evolving into a multi-billion dollar industry, growing to a bandwagon jumping 50% Caucasian ethnicity across the United States of America.

Completing his undergraduate studies in English Literature at the University of California , Santa Cruz , Wilson moved to China in 2001 to immerse himself in the roots and culture of China . For two years, he was a teacher at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou , China , an hour south of Shanghai . Together with John Pasden's Sinosplice Network, Racingmix, with an American-Born-Chinese viewpoint, laid the foundation for the international experience in Asia and "twenty something" post-graduate lifestyle abroad. Wilson progressively tuned his photography, image production & design in the fast-moving, most-populous nation in the world and once again created his vision of a totally unique lifestyle and culture.

When SARS hit Hong Kong & China in the Spring of 2001, Racingmix exposed the fraudulent U.S. propaganda at the "end" of Gulf War II. Lacking evidence that Iraq was in possession of weapons of mass destruction, SARS was conveniently plastered on the front pages of newspapers across the world, causing a hysteric, exaggerated fear amongst those living in relatively little danger. Racingmix offered a true perspective on SARS from within China .

In 2003, after two years of living, working and traveling East Asia, Wilson jet-setted to Australia and New Zealand, exploring the Southern Hemisphere where the sun rises first, jumping out of airplanes, high roping, hiking active volcano craters, swimming with sharks and sea turtles within the Great Barrier Reef and exploring underground glowworm caves, expanding his horizons on what a global lifestyle can encompass.

Wilson is currently living and working in the East Bay of San Francisco and maintains a bi-coastal lifestyle jetsettin' between Asia and America thanks to his involvement in the Classical Chinese Furniture & Art industry. As a Californian native, he is a passionate student of California Real Estate and as an active representative of both Generation-X (pre-1978) and Generation-Y (post-1976), Wilson is undoubtedly part of the most influential generation of all time.
